Peter feels his life is going nowhere, a fact confirmed when his family asks him to accompany his schizophrenic Uncle Jerald to his college reunion. Forced out of his self-absorption by the unique Jerald, Peter rediscovers what a precious and fleeting gift life is. It is an awareness that comes none too soon, Jerald has cancer and there may be more at stake this weekend than Peter's own sense of self-discovery.
